Tips for Cleaner Text in 3D Prints
For thin fonts and small letters, we recommend:
- Using a bold sans-serif font like Anton for clarity
- Printing at 0.2mm or finer layer height
- Enabling monotonic infill or ironing for top layers (but this can slow things down and isn’t always helpful)
- Slowing print speed to improve text sharpness
- Using a lighter plate color and darker text color for visibility (easy with dual extrusion or pausing on classic 3d printers)
Raised vs. Engraved Text
Raised text is more visible and easier to paint but requires more bridging. Cut-out text can look clean and modern but may be harder to read at small sizes. Our current version uses raised text.
